All bets are on limited capacity for this year’s Super Bowl LV (55), but it’s still the Super Bowl to us! We have a few clever tips on how boaters can embrace this year’s “smaller game” and still have huge fun.

The kickoff for Super Bowl LV is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 7, 2021 in Tampa Bay, Florida, at the Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And here’s a bit of trivia for you – it’s actually the fifth Super Bowl hosted in the Tampa area. So, let the crew at Snag-A-Slip help you plan your own small-scale pandemic-safe Super Bowl party right on your boat.

A game-worthy TV: If you don’t already have an awesome TV on board, check out the Furrion LD RV 19″ HDTV specifically made for boats and RVs. It has a wide range of connectivity and audio-output options.

A grill that will make a steak proud: Magma Marine Grills are portable and easily attach to any surface. All their models provide ample space for grilling up delicious meals that keep everyone on board well-fed.

A 12 Volt Blender: Blenders are perfect for making drinks and your signature game-day dip. And remember to use a 12-volt onboard outlet.

A well-stocked fridge: Be sure to stock your fridge with all your favorite game-day drinks, munchies and hearty eats. Preparing ahead of time will keep you out of the galley and enjoying the game.

Who’s televising the game?

Super Bowl LV will be televised by CBS and live streamed on the CBS All Access app.

OH! The halftime show

The NFL, Pepsi and Roc Nation announced that the three-time Grammy Award winner, The Weeknd, will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position,” the singer shared in an interview. Get pumped for the show by watching the new Pepsi commercial.

Virtual Super Bowl fun

The long-running ‘Taste of the NFL’ Super Bowl party is going virtual this year. The highly popular charity food event features players and chefs from each NFL city. This year, the “Taste of the NFL@Home”, will be live-streamed on Sunday, February 7 with celebrity chefs preparing gameday eats live from outside Raymond James Stadium. You need a ticket for this event, and you can buy yours here!

How to host a safe gathering

A safe gathering during the Covid-19 pandemic means you have to follow some rules:

  • Invite from the small group of people you know and trust. Your “isolation pod” should be made up of only those people who you know are following safe protocols and have not put themselves in risky situations (such as a crowded mall, bar or a gym).
  • Remind your guests to stay home if they’ve been exposed to the virus in the last 14 days or showing any symptoms.
  • Host outdoors if you can. If you must head inside, keep your boat well-ventilated.
  • Greet wisely and maintain your distance.
  • Ask everyone to keep a mask handy – when not eating or drinking, especially when inside, put a mask on.
