It’s been a great day of boating, you’ve just docked at your Snag-A-Slip reservation or it’s after the Annapolis Sailboat Show 2019 and now it’s time to kick back and relax on the boat. All you need is nice, cool refreshment to celebrate a great day on the water. Lucky for you, we have five of the best captain cocktail recipes to try.

(Captains 21 and older from this point on, please)

Dark & Stormy

If you’ve never had a Dark & Stormy, you’re going to want to. This easy and delicious captain cocktail comes together with three simple ingredients to create a refreshing drink that will become your next go-to.

Ingredients:

3 oz. of Dark Rum

2 oz. of Ginger Beer

Lime

Tropical Sangria

Any wine lovers out there? Well we’ve got a Sangria recipe for you to share with the whole crew. P.S. Pick your preference of white wine and your favorite tropical fruits. See the full recipe here!

Ingredients:

1 bottle of sweet white wine

¾ cup of pineapple juice

½ cup of orange juice

1 cup coconut rum

Fresh sliced tropical fruit (i.e, kiwi, oranges, mango, etc.)

Mojito

This spin on a Cuban cocktail is full of flavor with tangy lime, mint and sweetness. We definitely recommend this drink if you want to stay refreshed – it’s perfect for a hot summer day. See the full recipe here!

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons (1 ounce) fresh lime juice

2 heaping teaspoons superfine sugar

12 fresh mint leaves, plus 5 small sprigs for garnish

1/4 cup (2 ounces) white rum

2 tablespoons (1 ounce) club soda

Pineapple Breeze

Pineapple Breeze – this sounds like the name of my next boat! This cocktail brings together the flavors of pineapple, lime and rum to create a sweet refreshment.

Ingredients:

2 oz. light rum

2.5 oz. pineapple juice

¼ oz. fresh lime juice

¼ oz. Demerara Sugar Simple Syrup

Orange Crush

With Maryland being Snag-A-Slip’s home, the Orange Crush is staple. However, if you’re not from the area, let us introduce you to this hidden gem. Just make sure to use freshly squeezed oranges (trust us, it’s worth it). Check out the full recipe here!

Ingredients:

2 oz. Orange Flavored Vodka

1 oz. Triple Sec Liqueur

2 Freshly Squeezed Oranges

Splash of Sprite

We hope these captain cocktails tickle your tastebuds and make your day on the water just a little bit better.

Please enjoy your drinks responsibly. Remember that sober skippers are the best skippers. Boating and driving under the influence are dangerous – and illegal. Designate a sober skipper and stay safe!
